After six years and 117+ closed transactions, I need to tell you something I should have said from the beginning.

None of this was built on my own strength.

For six years, I’ve shared my story. Single mother. Launching my business while pregnant with my second child, during a pandemic with nothing but the COVID-19 unemployment checks and determination. Caring for my dying father while building a business. Closing over $12 million in real estate while being the foundation my entire family depended on.

And all of that is true.

But what I haven’t been transparent about is the actual Source of the strength that carried me through those impossible seasons.

God sustained me. His Word anchored me. And recently, through deeper study of Scripture, He’s shown me that I need to honor Him in everything I do, including my real estate business and how I show up for the clients He places in my path.

So this is my fresh start.

Same agent. Same expertise. Same commitment to excellence in Oakland County’s luxury real estate market. But now operating with clarity about who I’m really working for.

Why Now? My Recent Revelation

For the past few weeks, I’ve been studying God’s Word more intentionally than I ever have in my life.

Not just reading it. Studying it. Meditating on it. Letting it sink deep.

And the Holy Spirit has been convicting me: Gentraia, you’ve been compartmentalizing.

I had my “faith life” over here (personal and private) and I had my “business life” over there (professional, public, seven days a week).

God’s been showing me through Scripture that this division isn’t biblical. I can’t claim to trust Him with my eternal spirit but not trust Him with my real estate business. I can’t say He’s Lord of my life while keeping Him out of my livelihood.

Colossians 3:23 stopped me in my tracks:

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.”

Whatever I do. Not “whatever spiritual things you do.” Not “when you’re at church.” Whatever. Including selling homes in Oakland County and throughout Metro Detroit. Including marketing myself online. Including every client consultation, every negotiation, every transaction.

I’m working for the Lord first. My clients are who He’s placed in my path to serve. And I need to operate like I truly believe that.

The Truth About My “Unbreakable” Story

I’ve talked about being “unbreakable.”

Built different. Tested by life. Forged through adversity.

Here’s what I need to be honest about: It wasn’t my resilience that kept me standing. It was God’s faithfulness.

When my father was dying and I was his primary caregiver while raising two young children and building a real estate career from scratch, I didn’t have supernatural strength. I had Proverbs 3:5-6 on repeat in my mind:

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

Trust in the Lord. Don’t lean on your own understanding. Submit to Him in ALL your ways.

That’s what kept me going when I didn’t think I could take another step.

When business was slow, God provided. Every single time.

When my father passed and the grief was overwhelming while I still had clients and my children depending on me, God sustained me.

When being a single mother meant juggling school drop-offs, activities, the responsibility of paying all the bills, client acquisitions, showings, negotiations and middle-of-the-night feedings, God gave me strength I didn’t possess on my own.

Romans 5:3-4 says that suffering produces perseverance, perseverance produces character, and character produces hope.

Those impossible seasons? God used them to build something in me that I could never have developed in comfort. He increased my sensitivity to the Holy Spirit. He taught me to depend on Him completely because I had no other option. He molded me into someone who can handle pressure because I learned that He is in control, not me.

I’m not unbreakable because I’m tough.

I’m unbreakable because I’m rooted in the One who cannot be shaken.

What This Means for How I Serve You

So what does this actually look like in my real estate business?

It means I approach every transaction prayerfully. Before I meet with a client, I pray for wisdom. When you’re making a decision about selling your $500,000 home in Farmington Hills or buying in Royal Oak, I’m asking God to guide me in serving you well.

It means I operate with biblical principles of stewardship. Your real estate transaction isn’t just about getting the highest price or the best deal. It’s about being a wise steward of the financial resources God has entrusted to you. And my job is to help you make decisions that honor that responsibility.

Proverbs 16:3 says: “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.”

I’m committed to bringing my work, including your transaction, before the Lord. And I trust Him to establish the plans.

It means I trust God’s timing, not just market timing. Yes, I’ll give you data about Oakland County inventory levels and days on market and appreciation trends. That matters. But I also know that James 4:13-15 reminds us that we don’t control tomorrow, God does. So while I’ll help you make strategic decisions, I won’t pressure you into something you don’t have peace about.

It means I operate with integrity because I answer to a higher authority than client reviews or commission checks. 1 Corinthians 10:31 says “Whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” That includes how I negotiate, how I market properties, how I communicate, and how I treat everyone involved in a transaction.

It means when things get difficult, and in real estate, they will, I don’t panic. I’ve been through seasons where my father was dying, my family was depending on me, my brother dying just 9 months later, and everything felt impossible. And God was faithful. So when a deal gets complicated or a client is stressed, I bring the calm that comes from trusting God is in control.

Nothing Changes (Except Everything)

Here’s what hasn’t changed:

I still serve luxury clients in Oakland County’s $500,000 to $1 million+ market. I still bring hospitality training from my years at the Westin. I still use cutting-edge technology and AI-powered marketing to give your property maximum exposure. I still analyze market data to help you make informed decisions. I still operate with the strategic focus and relentless commitment that built a six-figure business starting from unemployment and strong ambition.

And here’s what has changed:

I’m clear now about who empowers me to do all of that.

I’m transparent about the foundation that makes me capable of handling pressure with grace.

I’m open about the fact that I pray for my clients and seek God’s wisdom in serving you.

I’m honest that my strength doesn’t come from me, it comes from being rooted in God’s Word and trusting His plan.

Matthew 6:33 says: “Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

For six years, I’ve been seeking success, clients, and financial stability. And God provided despite my divided focus.

Now I’m seeking His kingdom first and trusting Him to add everything else according to His will.

Who I’m Called to Serve

One more thing I want to be clear about:

I will serve whoever God places in my path.

If you’re a Christian family looking for an agent who shares your faith and will pray with you about your real estate decisions, I’m here for you.

If you’re not a Christian but you value working with someone who operates with integrity, keeps their word, and treats people with genuine care, I’m here for you too.

My faith informs how I work, but it doesn’t limit who I work with.

Whether your home is less than $500,000 or more than $1 million, whether you’re buying your first luxury property or selling an inherited estate, whether you share my beliefs or not, you’ll receive the same excellence, strategic expertise, and wholehearted service.

Colossians 3:23 again: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.”

That means every client. Every transaction. Every time.

My Commitment Going Forward

Moving forward, you’ll see faith woven more naturally into how I show up online and how I serve clients.

I’ll share Scripture that’s guiding me. I’ll be transparent about how I’m applying biblical principles to real estate decisions. I’ll pray for you, whether you ask me to or not.

But I’m not becoming a “Christian real estate agent” in some surface-level marketing way. I’m simply being honest that I’ve always been a Christian who happens to sell real estate, and now I’m done pretending those two things are separate.

God has been faithful to me through seasons I couldn’t survive on my own. He’s provided when I had nothing. He’s sustained me when I was empty. He’s built something meaningful through me despite my limitations.

The least I can do is acknowledge Him publicly and operate with the clarity that He’s been asking for all along.

Prayer

Father, I thank You for the journey You’ve brought me through. Thank You for sustaining me in the impossible seasons, when my father was dying, when I was building a business with no safety net, when my brother suddenly transitioned as well, when I was being the foundation everyone else depended on while feeling like I might crumble.

Thank You for showing me through Your Word that I need to honor You in everything, including my real estate business. Give me wisdom to serve every client You place in my path with excellence, integrity, and genuine love. Help me trust Your timing, not just market timing. Help me seek first Your kingdom and trust You to add everything else.

For anyone reading this who’s in an impossible season right now, provide for them. Sustain them. Use the trials to build character and increase their dependence on You. Remind them that their strength doesn’t have to come from themselves. It comes from You.

I commit this business to You, Lord. Guide my steps. Open the doors You want opened. Close the doors that should remain shut. Use me to serve people well and bring glory to Your name.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
